Somerset SLSC have a proud history in competition. Our club does extremely well in carnivals and State Titles, as well as having competitors go on to represent Tasmania in Australian wide competitions.
Participation is key: no matter how fast or inexperienced you may be, Somerset Surf Club encourages everyone to give it a go.
Surf Life Saving competitions occur at carnivals at multiple beaches around the state over the summer months. The completion of the season is held at the State Championship carnivals in March.
Competitions varies in a range of individual and team events including; swimming, board racing, iron person, beach flags, beach sprints, wade race, board rescue, ski (>15 years), boat racing (>15 years), 2km beach run (>13 years) and relay races.
Trainings are held all year for members over 13 years old and from November to March for 5-13 year olds.
Trainings consist of land and sea activities.
Nipper training will commence in the Summer Season of 2020
Gym- please bring a towel and drink bottle
Ski/ board- please bring warm clothes for training and a change of clothing.
Saturdays/ Sundays- varied
